◇About the Creator◇
We sell handmade shinobue flutes made by a father and daughter. The father has been a shinobue instructor in Shimane Prefecture for approximately 25 years and is also a flute craftsman. We craft shinobue and kagurabue flutes from female bamboo (shin bamboo) harvested from the Shizuma River (formerly Ginzan River), dried for over 3 years.

◇Features◇
The Juppon Choshi (10-hole tuning) has relatively compact finger hole spacing, making it easy to handle even for those with smaller hands.
It can be used for singing performances or as a daily practice instrument.

【Specifications】
◯ Length: Approx. 35.5 - 36.5 cm, Diameter: Approx. 16-17 mm (near the embouchure)
◯ Material: Shin bamboo (female bamboo) (dried for over 3 years and then heat-treated)
◯ Holes: Inner surface coated with synthetic azuki bean red lacquer (Cajeput)
◯ Outer surface: Coated with synthetic black lacquer (Cajeput)
◯ Winding thread: Ivory color

A 12g weight is inserted inside the head of the flute to ensure stability.
The reflector in the embouchure is made with wood putty to prevent melting even in summer heat. The winding thread is coated with clear lacquer (Cajeput) for a beautiful and long-lasting finish.

The tuning is set to the Ko-on (second octave) using a tuner, making it suitable for ensemble playing and performing with other instruments.
The flute is tuned to produce Ro-on (first octave), Ko-on (second octave), and Dai Ko-on 1, 2 by adjusting breath strength.
