Made with SUS440C, a high-hardness steel renowned as the world's finest premium stainless steel.
Hair cutting shears are typically made from stainless steel. However, stainless steel alone lacks hardness, so it is combined with hard steel.
The term stainless is a combination of stain (rust) and less (without), leading many to mistakenly believe it's rust-proof. In reality, rust can form if left wet or handled improperly.
Rust-proof steel does not exist. However, 440C's hardness allows it to maintain its sharpness. The combination of carbon and the rust-resistant element chromium (Cr) makes 440C superior in rust resistance and sustained sharpness.
Proper maintenance, such as wiping with a cloth after use, is assumed.
